Well just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and getting hit by Steven Wallace who was spinning at ya. A rough start to the year but if anybody can rally you guys can!

From Billy's Website: ================================================ For Immediate Release February 10th, 2007 THE SEASON BEGINS WITH A BANG! The beginning of Speed Weeks kicked of this week with the ARCA ReMax series hitting the fast and high banks of Daytona Speedway. In traditionally Venturini Motorsports fashion, the team again showed that they are a team to be reckoned with by putting the Hampton Luxury Homes/Hawk Saw Blades Chevrolet driven by Billy Venturini in the top ten for qualifying. After posting the 4th fastest time in Happy Hour the day before the race, the team was pretty excited about their chances of bringing home the coveted winner’s trophy this year. When the green flag flew at 4:15pm on Saturday, Billy was very comfortable with the car. But it didn’t take long to see how the day was going to go. By lap 5 Billy called in that the car was beginning to float the nose, (or in racing lingo, pushing like a freight train). He started to drift back but soon he knew something was wrong. He quickly found and opening in the field where he would not cause a wreck. On lap 11 a needed yellow came out and Billy quickly headed down pit road. The team sprang into action changing all 4 tires and making a small chassis adjustment. After reviewing the situation, Billy was correct in his evaluation of the car because a left rear tire had equalized. After getting four new tires, when the green reappeared, Billy called in that the car was much better and it showed by him posting lap times in the mid 48 seconds. Now knowing that he had a car to run up front, he was confident that he could make his way. As he was going through the front stretch tri-oval Steven Wallace blew a tire hit the outside wall and then came back across the track right in front of Billy. Sustaining heavy front end damage to the Hampton’s Luxury Homes Chevrolet, the crew began repairs to try to keep Billy in the point’s race this early in the season. It took 5 laps to get the car back on the track. The repairs did work. When Billy first came in he would have finished 39th. But by getting him back on the track he was able to finish 28th. The team’s next race will be at Lakeland Speedway in Florida on March 24, 2007.
